pimThe World Draughts Championship continues in Bashkortostan. The grandmaster from Netherlands Pim Meurs shared his impressions on the tournament and his game.

- Unfortunately, I did not get to the Final, although I expected and made every effort in the past two years. (For information, during this period Meurs won a silver medal at the Championship held in Holland in 2013 and a bronze medal at the European Championship.) Now I have ambivalent feelings, as I am worried because in the final there should be more Dutch and Russian sportsmen, as the draughts is most developed in these countries, - the draught player told.

It is worth noting that Dutch love of draughts is so strong that after the tournaments they carefully examine each game with their coach, colleagues and computer.

- For me, it is very important to discuss each combination with coach Rob Clerk to avoid mistakes in future. And for me the most important thing in draughts is to become the champion. So I make every effort and do my utmost to achieve this goal. Most of my time I spend on it. I study a little in the university, learning the food technologies, - said Pim Meurs. It should be noted that according to the results of five rounds of the B-final, Pim Meurs falls one point behind the leading group.
